How AAIP scoring works
The short answer
Alberta scores Worker Expressions of Interest out of 100. Human capital factors are worth up to 69: education 22, language 13, work experience 21, age 5 and a family member in Alberta 8. Economic factors are worth up to 31: a permanent full-time Alberta job offer 10, a rural community endorsement or select sector 6, a job outside Calgary and Edmonton 5, and a regulated occupation with Alberta certification 10.

What score do I need for an Alberta PNP invitation?
There’s no fixed pass mark. Alberta holds draws for specific streams, sectors and occupations, and each draw has its own minimum score. Compare your estimate with Alberta’s recent draw results for your stream.
Which AAIP streams use the Worker EOI?
The Alberta Opportunity Stream, the Rural Renewal Stream and the Tourism and Hospitality Stream. The Alberta Express Entry Stream, including the Accelerated Tech Pathway, selects candidates from the federal Express Entry pool instead.
Do jobs outside Calgary and Edmonton get more points?
Yes. A job outside the Calgary and Edmonton census metropolitan areas earns 5 points, and an endorsement from a Rural Renewal designated community earns another 6.
