Sources & scoring notes

Scoring reviewed October 6, 2026. Based on Manitoba: Expression of Interest ranking factors and Manitoba: Skilled Worker Overseas eligibility and points assessment.

Manitoba invites by occupation, stream and score in each draw. The Skilled Worker Overseas grid doesn’t say which ability sets your CLB level, so this tool uses the lowest.

This independent 5K Immigration tool estimates points, not eligibility or an invitation. Check current official requirements before applying.

How MPNP scoring works

The short answer

Manitoba ranks Expressions of Interest out of 1,000: language up to 125 (up to 25 for each ability in your first language, plus 25 for CLB 5 in the other official language), age up to 75, work experience up to 175 (75 for 4 or more years, plus 100 if you’re fully licensed in Manitoba), education up to 125, and adaptability up to 500. Work or study in another province takes off 100 points each.

Most of the points sit in adaptability, so your connection to Manitoba matters more than anything else. I look at which connection you can document and which pathway it opens before you submit an Expression of Interest.

Questions

MPNP questions

How is the MPNP EOI score calculated?

Manitoba ranks Expressions of Interest out of 1,000: language up to 125 (up to 25 for each ability in your first language, plus 25 for CLB 5 in the other official language), age up to 75, work experience up to 175 (75 for 4 or more years, plus 100 if you’re fully licensed in Manitoba), education up to 125, and adaptability up to 500. Work or study in another province takes off 100 points each.

Which adaptability points does Manitoba give?

Your highest connection counts: a close relative in Manitoba is 200, past work in Manitoba or a 2-year Manitoba program is 100, and a 1-year Manitoba program or a close friend or distant relative is 50. Working in Manitoba for 6 months with a long-term offer from the same employer, or an invitation under a Strategic Initiative, is 500. Settling outside Winnipeg adds 50 with another connection.

What is the 60-point Skilled Worker Overseas assessment?

Applicants in the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway also need at least 60 of 100 points on a separate grid for language, age, work experience, education and adaptability, as well as an established connection to Manitoba. The calculator shows both scores from the same answers.

Can I apply to the MPNP if my spouse is a Canadian citizen or PR?

No. Manitoba doesn’t accept MPNP applications from spouses of Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Spousal sponsorship is usually the route instead.
