BC PNP

Every Skills Immigration stream in one place, with the employer side and how B.C. chooses who to invite.

The short answer

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Skills Immigration streams are for workers with a job offer from a B.C. employer: Skilled Worker, Health Authority and the Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative. Skilled Worker and Health Authority include an Express Entry option worth 600 CRS points. Candidates register a profile scored out of 200, and since April 23, 2026 B.C. invites mainly through its Care, Build and Innovate draws.

Skilled Worker stream

For experienced managers, professionals, technical workers and skilled tradespeople.

  • TEER 0 to 3 job offer
  • 2 years of skilled experience
  • Express Entry BC option

About

You need a valid job offer from a B.C. employer in an eligible TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation, and at least two years of full-time (or equivalent) experience in any skilled occupation within the last ten years, in Canada or abroad. Your employer must meet the BC PNP employer requirements. With a valid Express Entry profile you can use the Express Entry BC option.

How I help

  • Occupation, experience and job offer checked against the guide
  • Registration score and realistic ways to raise it
  • Application, then your PR application after nomination
  • Skilled workers with a B.C. job offer in TEER 0 to 3
  • People with 2 years of skilled experience in the last 10 years
  • Express Entry candidates who want the 600-point nomination

Health Authority stream

For health professionals who are part of B.C.’s public health care system.

  • B.C. public health authority
  • Health authority support
  • No registration needed

About

You need a regular, indeterminate, full-time job offer from a B.C. public health authority in a health occupation (any NOC starting with 3), or as a social worker (41300), counselling therapist (41301) or social and community service worker (42201). Physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives who aren’t direct employees can also apply with the support of a health authority (or a midwife practice group). Your health authority must agree to support your application, and you apply directly without registering.

How I help

  • Whether your occupation and job offer qualify
  • Health authority support and the Employer Declaration Form
  • Application, then your PR application after nomination
  • Employees of Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, Interior Health and B.C.’s other health authorities
  • Physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives licensed (or eligible) in B.C.
  • Social workers, counsellors and community service workers in a health authority

Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative

A temporary stream for health authority security and cleaning staff in rural and remote B.C.

  • Health authority employees
  • Security and cleaning jobs
  • Rural or remote B.C.

About

This initiative is for direct employees of a B.C. health authority who already work in a regular, indeterminate, full-time job as a security guard (64410), light duty cleaner (65310) or janitor or heavy-duty cleaner (65312) in a rural or remote part of the province. Employees of contractors aren’t eligible, the health authority must support your application, and the Express Entry BC option isn’t available.

How I help

  • Eligibility, including your work location
  • Health authority support and the application
  • Your PR application after nomination
  • Security and cleaning staff employed directly by a B.C. health authority in a rural or remote location

Express Entry BC (EEBC) option

Use your federal Express Entry profile so a B.C. nomination adds 600 CRS points.

  • Skilled Worker or Health Authority
  • Nomination: +600 CRS
  • Active Express Entry profile

About

If you qualify for a federal Express Entry program, you can apply to the Skilled Worker or Health Authority stream through the Express Entry BC option. You need a valid Express Entry profile number and Job Seeker Validation Code, and you must show interest in settling in B.C. A nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score, which usually leads to an invitation in the next federal draw. You need to keep your Express Entry profile valid throughout.

How I help

  • Express Entry eligibility check
  • Choosing EEBC or the base option
  • Keeping both profiles valid and consistent
  • Candidates who already meet the Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Trades criteria

Registration, score and targeted draws

How B.C. ranks registrations and chooses who to invite.

  • Score out of 200
  • Care, Build, Innovate
  • Invitations by draw

About

For most streams you register in BCPNP Online and get a score out of 200 from directly related experience, education, language, the hourly wage of your job offer and the area of B.C. where it’s located. B.C. then holds draws, often targeted at specific occupations. Since April 23, 2026, invitations focus on Care (health and care occupations), Build (skilled trades) and Innovate (High Economic Impact candidates with high wages or scores in any sector).

How I help

  • Your score and where you stand against recent draws
  • Wage, location and language levers that raise it
  • A backup plan if your occupation isn’t targeted
  • Anyone registering for Skilled Worker
  • Candidates outside the Care and Build occupations planning a High Economic Impact route

What decides these files

Where applications go wrong, and how I prevent it

  • NOC codes that don’t match the duties

Picking a priority NOC because it looks better is misrepresentation. The code has to match what you actually do.

  • Employer documents that answer vaguely

B.C. treats answers like ‘not applicable’ or ‘employee on valid work permit’ on the Employer Declaration Form as incomplete.

  • Waiting in the pool without a backup

If your occupation isn’t targeted, I plan Express Entry and your work permit timeline alongside the BC PNP.

Fees and timelines change: check IRCC’s current processing times (opens in a new tab).

Questions

BC PNP: common questions

Which BC PNP streams are open in 2026?

The Skills Immigration streams are Skilled Worker, Health Authority and the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative. The Entry Level and Semi-Skilled stream is closed, and B.C. has said it won’t launch new student streams.

Do I need a job offer for the BC PNP?

Yes, for the Skills Immigration streams. Skilled Worker needs a job offer in an eligible TEER 0 to 3 occupation from an employer that meets B.C.’s requirements, and the health streams need a job offer from, or the support of, a B.C. public health authority.

What is the Express Entry BC option?

It lets Skilled Worker and Health Authority applicants who qualify for a federal Express Entry program apply with their Express Entry profile. A nomination adds 600 CRS points.

How is the BC PNP score calculated?

Registrations are scored out of 200 for directly related experience, education, language, the hourly wage of your B.C. job offer and the area of B.C. where the job is. You can estimate yours with the BC PNP calculator.

What does my employer need for the BC PNP?

In most cases your employer must have operated in B.C. for at least a year, have at least 5 full-time employees in B.C. (3 outside Metro Vancouver), hold a municipal business licence, recruit locally and complete the Employer Declaration Form.
